Soho is the smallest district in central London yet has some of the most highly sought after rental property and is a much sought after place to live by people wanting to set down roots or as temporary measure while working in the city or in the more business oriented areas such as Canary Wharf and docklands in general; indeed, such is its central London location that it makes an ideal base for work anywhere within the city primarily due to the excellent public transport infrastructure which has its tentacles reaching out all over the capital.
However, be choosy when looking for an apartment of flat to rent, make sure its location is just where you are looking for; remember a quiet place during the day may be adjacent to a boisterous nighttime street scene, not good if you have to rise early for work every day.
Is the apartment of flat you want to rent close to amenities such as shops, public spaces such as parks or squares and is it as close as it needs to be to your transport solution? Do you own a car and is there reserved parking or indeed facilities for parking, is it a secure lock up or open to anyone, do you ride a bike and is there storage space for it when it is not being used?
How much is the rent and does it include utility bills, ground rent or service charges, how much is an average utility bill and how is the place heated, is it oil, gas or electric heating?
How long is the contract and are there any penalties to pay if the contract has to be terminated early, how much deposit is to be paid and what is included in fixtures and fittings, is it furnished or unfurnished and what maintenance costs are you responsible for?
All of these questions and more need answering to ensure the place you apartment or flat you choose to rent is not a financial burden and is not a millstone around your neck should future circumstances change. Renting a property is as challenging as buying a property but in differing ways, and it is therefore better in the long run to deal with an agency or landlord that has a long and stable history of successful lettings and good tenant/landlord relationships.
We have many properties available constantly changing and in a state of flux, and we have a long history of strong and solid relationships with our clients. We look forward to hearing from you in due course.
